Role Overview

As Senior Manager – Investible Vehicles, you will play a pivotal role in supporting GSG Impact's efforts to expand and strengthen our National Partners' capacity to mobilise capital and launch investible vehicles for impactful investments.

This position will focus primarily on working across the GSG Impact Partnership in supporting the creation and scaling of large-scale impact investment vehicles, including funds of funds and impact wholesalers (c 75% of time), and on advancing knowledge products and advocacy (c 15% of time).
Key Responsibilities
Technical assistance, strategic advisory, and project management support for National Partners (~75%)

Provide technical assistance and strategic advisory to National Partners, guiding them through the process of setting up and scaling impact investment structures.

Provide support to National Partners in the design, implementation, and scaling of large-scale impact investment vehicles (e.g. funds of funds like Ci-Gaba in Ghana, Nigeria Impact Wholesaler, Zambia Small and Growing Business Initiative) to unlock capital for SDG-aligned investments.

Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including development finance institutions (DFIs), asset managers, and government agencies, to catalyse capital for high-impact solutions.

Coordinate cross-functional teams within GSG Impact to ensure the successful delivery of complex initiatives in emerging markets across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Monitor and evaluate the progress of projects, ensuring that lessons learned are captured and disseminated for future scaling.
Knowledge Products and Advocacy (~15%)

Engage with working groups, roundtables, and other forums to contribute to the development of innovative tools, frameworks, and best practices that advance the impact investment sector.

Contribute to advocacy efforts related to SME finance and other key topics, leveraging GSG’s network to influence policies and practices that support sustainable investments.

Coordinate with internal and external teams to align knowledge products with the broader GSG Impact strategy and ensure their relevance to global policy agendas.
General Responsibilities (~10%)

Collaborate with internal teams globally, including Fundraising and Communications, to ensure the alignment of initiatives and maximise the impact of GSG Impact's work.

Represent GSG Impact at global conferences, forums, and meetings to raise the profile of our work and advocate for systemic change in the financial sector.

Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities to ensure the impact of GSG Impact’s initiatives is tracked and communicated effectively.
Experience and Skills

Experience in capital mobilisation structuring: proven track record in designing, structuring, implementing, and scaling large and small impact investment vehicles such as funds of funds, wholesalers, or other catalytic finance structures.

Impact investment expertise: in-depth knowledge of the impact investing sector, including market trends, policy challenges, and innovative financing mechanisms.

Knowledge development: experience in developing knowledge products, particularly in areas related to SME finance, development finance or policy development.

Stakeholder engagement: strong ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including government bodies, DFIs, investors, and other key players in the impact ecosystem.

Strategic leadership: a hands-on leader with excellent project management skills, able to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Exceptional communicator: strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into actionable insights.

Team player: ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners across geographies, with a strong team-oriented mindset.

10+ years of relevant experience in impact investing, capital mobilisation, or a related field.
Location: Flexible (ideally London or other major Europe or Africa global hubs)
Compensation: Competitive within the charity sector, based on experience.
